FIA arrests suspected human smuggler in Islamabad

Islamabad, April 30,2026: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a suspected human smuggler during a crackdown conducted by the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Islamabad.

According to FIA officials, the accused, identified as Imran Sarwar, a resident of Haroonabad in Bahawalnagar district, was arrested in connection with FIR No. 133/26 registered under Sections 18 and 22 of the Emigration Ordinance 1979, along with Sections 419, 420, 468 and 471 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The FIA said the suspect allegedly extorted PKR 2.7 million from a complainant on the promise of sending him to the United States and Saudi Arabia for employment purposes.

Officials stated that further investigation into the case is underway. The raid was conducted by a team led by Muhammad Azeem and Mushtaq.
