High level European Commission delegation visits KPT

Karachi, April 30,2026: A high-level, 8 members, European Union delegation led by Director Asia Pacific European Commission Peteris Ustubs, along with EU Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Raimundas Karoblis, visited Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and met Chairman KPT, Rear Admiral Shahid Ahmed SI (M) SBt (Retd).

The delegation was briefed on Karachi Port’s operations and key development projects, including port expansion, green initiative, Manora Ship Repairs Yard, Maritime District, bunkering, and transshipment activities. Discussions also focused on the EU’s Global Gateway Strategy for green shipping, port modernization, and sustainable connectivity.

The delegation later visited SAPT to observe advanced port operations.
