Rawalpindi, April 30,2026: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday said security forces killed 13 militants during two separate infiltration attempts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the military’s media wing, the operations were conducted on April 28 and 29 in Mohmand District and North Waziristan District after security forces detected the movement of armed militants attempting to infiltrate from across the border.
The ISPR stated that in the first operation in Mohmand District, troops engaged a group of militants attempting to cross into Pakistan from Afghanistan. Following what it described as a “precise and skillful engagement,” eight militants were killed.
In a separate encounter in North Waziristan District, security forces foiled another infiltration attempt and killed five more militants after an intense exchange of fire.
The military termed the slain militants members of “Fitna-al-Khwarij” and alleged that the group was backed by India.
The ISPR said the incidents highlighted what it described as the failure of the Afghan Taliban authorities to ensure effective border management on their side of the frontier. It urged the Afghan administration to prevent the use of Afghan territory for militant activities against Pakistan.
The statement added that sanitisation operations were continuing in the area to eliminate any remaining militants and reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue counterterrorism operations under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” strategy approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.
