Lahore, May 3, 2026: The closing ceremony of the 11th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) turned Gaddafi Stadium into a vibrant spectacle on Sunday night, as top artists and performers delivered electrifying acts ahead of the grand final.
A packed stadium witnessed high-energy performances as rock legend Ali Azmat set the tone with several hit songs, including his iconic “Junoon”, energising the crowd and reviving the spirit of live cricket entertainment.
Folk music star Arif Lohar captivated spectators with his signature performance style, including popular numbers such as “Sadke Jawan”, drawing loud cheers from the stands.
The finale brought together Aima Baig, Atif Aslam, Daniya Kanwal and the Sabri Brothers, who jointly performed the PSL anthem, receiving an enthusiastic response from the audience.
A spectacular fireworks display illuminated the Lahore sky, adding to the celebratory atmosphere, while a special segment showcasing the PSL trophy further enhanced the grandeur of the event.
Former Pakistan cricket legend Wasim Akram also participated in the ceremony as one of the presenters, drawing appreciation from fans inside the stadium.
Speakers at the event highlighted the emotional significance of the occasion, noting that despite earlier disruptions that kept fans away from stadiums, the return of spectators for the final reflected the enduring passion for cricket in Pakistan.
Initially, spectators had been restricted from attending matches due to fuel conservation measures introduced amid rising global oil prices. However, authorities later allowed fans to attend the final and playoff matches, restoring the live atmosphere that has long been a hallmark of the PSL.
