Islamabad, May 3, 2026: Advisor to the Chairman Senate and Ambassador to ISC Misbah Khar said on Sunday that meaningful and lasting change can only be achieved through collective efforts involving governments, civil society, diplomatic communities, and citizens.
She was addressing the annual “Taste the World Charity Event 2026” organised by the Islamabad Foreign Women’s Association (IFWA) in collaboration with diplomatic missions, partner organisations, and the Islamabad Serena Hotel.
Speaking as the chief guest, Misbah Khar described food as “the language of diplomacy that needs no translation” and praised the initiative for bringing together cultures, cuisines, and communities for a humanitarian cause.
Addressing diplomats, civil society representatives, and participants from various embassies and high commissions, she appreciated IFWA, the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association, Serena Hotel management, and participating diplomatic missions for their continued commitment to charitable and social welfare activities.
“It is both a pleasure and an honour to join this meaningful event that beautifully brings together cultures, cuisines, and communities for a greater humanitarian purpose,” she said.
Highlighting the importance of such initiatives, Misbah Khar said the event went beyond cultural exchange and served as a powerful platform for collective goodwill and solidarity with underprivileged communities, especially women, children, and vulnerable groups.
She acknowledged the contributions of the Islamabad Foreign Women’s Association since its establishment in 1995, noting that the organisation has played an important role in promoting charitable causes, strengthening community ties, and fostering goodwill between Pakistan and the international community.
Underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to inclusive development and social welfare, she referred to the Benazir Income Support Programme as a major national initiative providing financial assistance to millions of deserving families across the country.
According to Misbah Khar, government-led welfare programmes are further strengthened through collaborative initiatives such as “Taste the World,” which encourage community engagement and partnerships for social development.
“Events such as these demonstrate that when governments, civil society, diplomatic communities, and citizens come together, meaningful and lasting change becomes possible,” she said.
Concluding her remarks, she expressed hope that the initiative would continue to bring hope, dignity, and opportunities to deserving communities across Pakistan.
The “Taste the World Charity Event” is one of IFWA’s flagship annual programmes aimed at celebrating cultural diversity while raising funds for charitable projects related to women’s empowerment, education, and social welfare.
