Rawalpindi, May 5, 2026: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Force Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir presided over the 275th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) at the General Headquarters on Tuesday, where senior military leadership reviewed the country’s internal and external security environment.

According to an official statement, the forum paid tribute to the martyrs of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies and civilians who lost their lives defending the country, reaffirming that their sacrifices remain the foundation of Pakistan’s national security, unity and resilience.

The military leadership expressed satisfaction over the operational preparedness, professionalism and combat readiness of the armed forces. Field Marshal Asim Munir commended commanders and formations for their vigilance and ongoing success in intelligence-based counterterrorism operations across the country.

The forum resolved to sustain the current operational tempo aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, disrupting their support systems and denying militants any operational space within Pakistan.

The conference reviewed progress under Operation Ghazb lil Haq and noted what it described as the continued degradation of terrorist networks and infrastructure.

The forum also criticized the policies of the Afghan Taliban, alleging that safe havens were being provided to Khawarij and other militant groups. The statement said such policies were increasingly “backfiring” and accused the Taliban regime of launching a propaganda campaign to falsely portray Pakistan as targeting civilians inside Afghanistan.

The military leadership rejected the allegations, stating that Pakistan’s actions were defensive, precise and solely directed against infiltrators, terrorist hideouts and militant support infrastructure.

Discussing the broader regional environment, the forum noted that recent geopolitical developments carried important implications for regional stability. While emphasizing restraint and avoidance of escalation, the military leadership reiterated Pakistan’s support for efforts aimed at maintaining peace and preventing further deterioration of the regional security situation.

The conference also marked the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, describing it as a symbol of national unity and collective resolve to safeguard the country’s sovereignty.

According to the statement, the forum said the commemoration sent a message that the Pakistani nation remained united and prepared to confront internal and external challenges, highlighting what it termed the harmony between the people, government and armed forces under the concept of “Bunyanum Marsoos.”

The military leadership further condemned alleged human rights violations, extrajudicial killings and demographic changes in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reiterating Pakistan’s diplomatic, political and moral support for the Kashmiri people.

In his concluding remarks, Field Marshal Asim Munir directed commanders to maintain the highest levels of vigilance, operational readiness and adaptability in response to evolving threats, while continuing to focus on professional excellence and integrated response mechanisms to counter both conventional and non-conventional challenges.
