Islamabad, May 12, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the Committee on Recognition of Medical, Dentistry, and Alternative Medicine Educational Institutions, the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office said on Tuesday.
The meeting reviewed and scrutinized cases related to the recognition of medical, dental, and alternative medicine educational institutions under applicable laws.
During the session, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining strict quality assurance standards and ensuring compliance with international benchmarks in medical education.
The committee also reiterated that Pakistani students pursuing medical education abroad must complete prior registration with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) in accordance with established procedures to avoid future complications.
The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Secretary Health, Secretary Education, and senior officials from relevant ministries and departments.
