Islamabad, May 14,2026: U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Paul Kapur called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Thursday, where both sides discussed bilateral relations and key regional developments.
During the meeting, the deputy prime minister appreciated U.S. President Donald Trump’s vision for peace and welcomed the Iran–U.S. ceasefire understanding. He also referred to the recent visit of U.S. Vice President JD Vance to Pakistan on April 11–12.
Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to resolving regional and international issues through dialogue and diplomacy.
The deputy prime minister expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in Pakistan–United States relations and welcomed growing engagement between the two countries in various sectors.
He emphasized the importance of regular high-level exchanges and sustained structured dialogue to further strengthen bilateral ties.
Assistant Secretary Paul Kapur appreciated Pakistan’s role in regional mediation efforts and acknowledged the improving trajectory of relations between Islamabad and Washington.
Both sides agreed to expand cooperation in trade, investment, and development, while reaffirming their commitment to continued collaboration across multiple fields.
