Islamabad, May 23, 2026: Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital, a constituent institution of GAK HealthCare International, and the Islamabad Union of Journalists (IUJ) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at improving access to quality healthcare services for journalists and promoting public health awareness initiatives.
Under the agreement, IUJ members and their families will receive facilitated medical services at subsidized rates, including OPD consultations, inpatient care, surgical procedures, laboratory diagnostics, radiology, and emergency treatment.
The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Areej Neyazi and Fayaz Tanoli.
Representing the hospital as focal person, Imran Ali Ghouri also signed the agreement, while IUJ was represented by General Secretary Sardar Sajjad Tariq and Deputy General Secretary Salma Malik.
Senior IUJ officials, including Rashid Abbasi and Vice President Faiza Younus, were also present at the signing ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Areej Neyazi said the initiative reflected the hospital’s philosophy of extending compassionate healthcare beyond institutional boundaries.
“This collaboration is not just about medical facilitation; it is about standing with those who inform and educate society every day,” she said.
IUJ President Fayaz Tanoli described the agreement as a positive development for the journalist community, saying access to reliable healthcare remained a fundamental need for media professionals.
“This partnership ensures that our members and their families can receive timely and quality medical care with dignity,” he remarked.
Imran Ali Ghouri highlighted the broader objective behind the collaboration, saying the partnership would also strengthen public health communication and awareness campaigns through the media.
Following the signing ceremony, the visiting delegation was given a detailed tour of the hospital by Head of Hospital Administration Malik Rafique.
The delegation appreciated the hospital’s modern infrastructure, clinical standards, and patient-friendly environment, acknowledging the quality of healthcare services being provided across departments.
