Lahore, May 23, 2026: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially started the process of appointing a batting coach for the Pakistan men’s cricket team after issuing a job advertisement on Saturday seeking an “experienced and skilled” candidate for the role.
According to the advertisement, applicants must possess a minimum Level II cricket coaching accreditation along with at least five years of experience in a similar position with elite cricketers, national sides, franchise teams, or international setups.
The PCB stated that candidates should have a strong understanding of batting techniques, game analysis, and player development, as well as proven expertise in monitoring and evaluating international-level systems designed to improve batting performance.
The board is also seeking individuals with experience in coaching athletes to international standards, in addition to strong planning, organisational, and management abilities. The successful candidate must also demonstrate the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
According to the criteria, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, integrity, professionalism, persuasive communication abilities, and computer literacy — including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and coaching software — are considered essential for the role.
Sources said the appointment is specifically for Pakistan’s white-ball setup.
The vacancy emerged after current batting coach Hanif Malik resigned from the position a few weeks ago.
Sources further revealed that Hanif Malik is currently serving his notice period, and Pakistan’s upcoming three-match home ODI series against Australia, scheduled to conclude on June 4, will be his final assignment with the team.
The PCB has set the deadline for submission of applications at 5pm on June 7.
