Pakistan Army Mi-17 helicopter crashes near Muzaffarabad, all on board martyred

Rawalpindi, June 10,2026: A Pakistan Army Aviation Mi-17 helicopter crashed near Muzaffarabad on Wednesday during take-off due to a technical fault, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a statement, the military’s media wing said that all personnel on board embraced Shahadat in the tragic accident and there were no survivors.

Rescue and recovery teams were immediately dispatched to the crash site and commenced operations soon after the incident.

The ISPR said that a board of inquiry has been ordered to determine the exact technical cause of the crash.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Force (CDF), along with all ranks of the Pakistan Army, expressed profound grief over the tragic loss of precious lives. They also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the martyrs.

Further details regarding the identities of the personnel on board are expected to be released following notification of their next of kin.
