Pakistan, EU welcome progress on US-Iran understanding, reaffirm support for diplomacy

Islamabad, June 12, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation on Friday with the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, to discuss recent developments regarding the United States-Iran understanding.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both leaders welcomed the progress achieved through sustained diplomatic engagement and expressed hope that ongoing efforts would soon lead to a durable understanding and a peaceful resolution of outstanding issues.

During the conversation, the two sides reaffirmed their shared view that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable means of resolving conflicts and promoting lasting peace and stability.

The exchange reflects Pakistan’s continued support for diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing regional tensions and fostering constructive engagement among stakeholders.
