Islamabad, June 15, 2026: Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Oumer H. Oba held a meeting with Tajik Ambassador Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir at the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Islamabad on Monday, where the two diplomats discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across multiple sectors.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed existing ties between Ethiopia and Tajikistan and explored opportunities for enhanced collaboration in areas including trade and business, tourism, culture, energy, education and regional connectivity.
The two ambassadors also discussed the initiation of bilateral political consultations aimed at establishing a formal framework for advancing cooperation and promoting structured engagement between the two countries.
The discussions highlighted the shared interest of Ethiopia and Tajikistan in broadening diplomatic and economic relations and creating new avenues for mutually beneficial partnerships.
Both envoys reaffirmed their commitment to fostering closer cooperation between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Republic of Tajikistan and expressed confidence that strengthened engagement would further deepen bilateral ties in the years ahead
