Islamabad, June 24, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, chaired a meeting of the Committee for the Development and Management of the Shrine of Hazrat Bari Imam to review arrangements for the upcoming religious events scheduled for August.
The committee held detailed discussions on preparations for the annual Chadar Poshi Ceremony, which is set to take place on August 14, 2026, as well as the Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Bari Imam, scheduled from August 15 to 17, 2026.
During the meeting, Ishaq Dar appreciated the efforts and dedication of committee members for their contributions toward preserving and promoting the spiritual heritage associated with the revered Sufi shrine.
The Deputy Prime Minister directed a sub-committee, headed by the Federal Minister for Railways, to oversee and accelerate ongoing work related to the upkeep, maintenance, and construction activities at the shrine. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that all arrangements are completed in a timely manner to facilitate devotees expected to attend the annual celebrations.
The meeting reviewed progress on infrastructure improvements, management measures, and logistical arrangements aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of the religious gatherings.
Among those present were the Federal Minister for Railways, Minister of State for Interior and Narcotics Control, the Interior Secretary, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Lt Gen (Retd) Afzal Janjua, Raja Sarfraz Akram, Gauhar Zahid Malik, and Sohail Bhatti.
The annual Urs of Hazrat Bari Imam is one of the country’s significant spiritual gatherings, attracting thousands of devotees from across Pakistan who visit the shrine to participate in religious and cultural activities.
