Islamabad, July 2, 2026: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation (SACF) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build a modern international-standard cricket stadium in Jeddah, in a move aimed at promoting the sport in the kingdom.

The MoU was signed by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and the chairman of the Saudi cricket body at a ceremony held on Thursday.

Under the agreement, the two cricket organisations will collaborate on the development of world-class cricket infrastructure, operational standards and other initiatives designed to strengthen the sport in Saudi Arabia. The proposed stadium will be built to meet all requirements for hosting international cricket competitions.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said the board was proud to contribute to the growth of cricket in Saudi Arabia, adding that the partnership would help promote the game further while also strengthening the longstanding ties between Pakistan and the kingdom.

The chairman of the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation described the project as an important milestone for the future of cricket in Saudi Arabia, saying the partnership would go beyond stadium construction and would also focus on the sport’s development at multiple levels.

The agreement builds on earlier contacts between the two sides. During a visit to Saudi Arabia in December 2024, Naqvi had offered comprehensive support for promoting cricket in the kingdom and assisting in the construction of cricket stadiums.

During the same visit, the PCB chief had invited his Saudi counterpart to Pakistan to watch matches of the Champions Trophy and had also proposed a player exchange programme under which emerging Saudi players could receive training in Pakistan.
