Beijing, July 25,2026: Moiz Farooq, Executive Editor of Daily Ittehad Media Group and Pakistan Economic Network, has been honoured with the Outstanding Participant Award at the 2026 Asia-Pacific Media Partnership Program Training Project (APMP100 Session 1), organised by Xinhua News Agency in Beijing, China.
The prestigious recognition was awarded in acknowledgment of his exceptional diligence, active engagement, and outstanding overall performance throughout the three day international training program, held from July 22 to 24, 2026.
Notably, Moiz Farooq was the only participant to receive the Outstanding Participant Award among more than 30 journalists and media professionals representing countries across the Asia Pacific region and the Arab Centre, making the recognition one of the highest honours of the program.
The Certificate of Honor, conferred by the APMP100 Organizing Committee, recognises exceptional commitment, professionalism, and meaningful contributions during the intensive training program, which focused on artificial intelligence, media innovation, digital transformation, and the future of mainstream journalism.
The award was presented by Ji Meng, Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Bureau of Xinhua News Agency, during the closing ceremony held in Beijing.
Speaking after receiving the honour, Moiz Farooq said the award was not only a personal achievement but also a recognition of Pakistan’s growing presence in international media forums. He expressed gratitude to Xinhua News Agency and the organising committee for providing journalists with a valuable platform to exchange ideas, strengthen professional cooperation, and explore the future of AI driven journalism.
The APMP100 program brought together more than 30 journalists and media professionals from across the Asia Pacific region and the Arab Centre under the theme of systemic transformation of mainstream media in the age of technological innovation. Over three days, participants attended expert lectures, interactive workshops, and field visits to leading Chinese technology and innovation institutions, including JD.com Headquarters and the Beijing Robotics Innovation Center, gaining firsthand exposure to China’s rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, and digital media.
During the closing ceremony, several participants were also recognised in different award categories, including Janelle Pusta Lorzano of The Philippine STAR, Siti Zanariah Nor Zin of the Malaysian National News Agency (BERNAMA), Easmin Akhtar of Rising Bangladesh, and other distinguished media professionals from participating countries.
The recognition of Moiz Farooq as the sole Outstanding Participant reflects his dedication to professional excellence and highlights the growing contribution of Pakistani journalists to international media dialogue and cooperation. The achievement also reinforces the commitment of Daily Ittehad Media Group and the Pakistan Economic Network to promoting innovation, responsible journalism, and international collaboration in the rapidly evolving digital media landscape.
