Muscat, July 26, 2026: Pakistan secured the silver medal at the 2026 Men’s Asian Hockey5s Championship in Muscat, Oman, after an impressive campaign that also earned the Green Shirts qualification for the FIH Hockey5s World Cup 2026.
Pakistan produced a string of outstanding performances throughout the continental tournament, defeating several of Asia’s top teams before finishing as runners-up in the final.
The result secured Pakistan a coveted place at the FIH Hockey5s World Cup 2026, where the national team will represent the country on the global stage.
Pakistan’s campaign was further highlighted by the outstanding performances of Adeel, who was named Player of the Tournament in recognition of his consistency, leadership and match-winning contributions throughout the championship.
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) hailed the players, coaching staff, management and support personnel for their dedication and commitment, describing the campaign as a significant step forward in the revival of Pakistan hockey.
The federation said the silver-medal finish and World Cup qualification reflected the team’s growing competitiveness at the international level and the positive progress being made in the sport.
PHF President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani congratulated the national team on winning the silver medal, securing qualification for the FIH Hockey5s World Cup and Adeel’s prestigious individual award, describing them as important milestones for Pakistan hockey.
He expressed confidence that with continued hard work, professional coaching and sustained institutional support, Pakistan would continue to achieve greater success on the international stage.
The PHF also thanked the Government of Pakistan, the Pakistan Sports Board, sponsors and hockey fans across the country for their continued encouragement and support.
