Rawalpindi, July 27, 2026: Two members of the United States House of Representatives called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Monday, where both sides discussed regional security, bilateral defence cooperation and opportunities to strengthen economic engagement.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Congressman Ryan Keith Zinke of Montana and Congressman Michael James of Washington held talks with the army chief on matters of mutual interest, regional security and avenues for enhancing economic collaboration and shared prosperity.

During the meeting, Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted Pakistan’s vast economic potential, stressing that sustainable regional stability is closely linked with economic growth, trade expansion and regional connectivity.

He also briefed the visiting lawmakers on Pakistan’s ongoing structural reforms aimed at creating a business-friendly environment and attracting greater foreign investment.

The US congressmen acknowledged Pakistan’s important role in promoting regional stability and economic resilience. Both sides also discussed opportunities to expand bilateral economic engagement, encourage private sector partnerships and strengthen trade relations between Pakistan and the United States.

The visiting delegation thanked the military leadership for its warm hospitality and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting deeper economic, commercial and institutional ties between the two countries.
