Islamabad, July 31, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday welcomed the decision of the Lloyd’s Market Association’s Joint War Committee (JWC) to remove Pakistan from its Listed Areas for war risk insurance, describing it as a significant milestone that reflects growing international confidence in the country.
In a statement, Dar said the achievement was made possible through the concerted efforts of the Government of Pakistan, with the process being effectively coordinated by Pakistan’s High Commission in London.
He also appreciated the Lloyd’s Market Association for its constructive engagement throughout the process.
The deputy prime minister said the removal of Pakistan from the war risk insurance list was expected to reduce shipping and insurance costs, facilitate international trade and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
“This important milestone reflects growing international confidence in Pakistan,” Dar said, adding that the development would provide a positive boost to trade and investment.
He concluded his statement by expressing gratitude over the achievement, saying, “Alhamdulillah.”
