Islamabad, Aug 14,2026: Ambassador of Cuba to Pakistan Damián Cordero Torres has extended heartfelt congratulations to the leadership and people of Pakistan on the occasion of the country’s 79th Independence Day.
In a message issued on the historic occasion, the Cuban ambassador conveyed the highest compliments and sincere congratulations on behalf of the Government and people of Cuba.
He said that Cuba-Pakistan bilateral relations were rooted in a proud history of solidarity, mutual trust and shared principles of sovereignty.
The ambassador highlighted the historic cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of public health and advanced academic development, describing it as an exemplary model of South-South cooperation and international partnership.
He said that amid an increasingly complex global landscape, Cuba remained firmly committed to further strengthening bilateral engagement with Pakistan.
Cordero Torres said Cuba looked forward to reinforcing diplomatic ties and promoting deeper institutional cooperation across key areas of mutual interest, with the aim of translating the longstanding affinity between the two countries into concrete and long-term strategic progress.
On the auspicious occasion, the Cuban ambassador conveyed his best wishes for continued peace, unity and sovereign development of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
