Dubai, August 26, 2026: Pakistan’s Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Rizwan, Shan Masood and spinner Ali Usman have made notable gains in the latest ICC Test rankings following the recent England-Pakistan and Australia-Bangladesh series.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam has retained his 10th position in the Test batting rankings with 709 rating points.
Rizwan has moved up one place to 26th with 629 points, despite modest returns in recent matches, while Shafique has made the most significant improvement among Pakistan’s leading batters, climbing seven places to 27th.
Saud Shakeel has slipped seven places to 33rd with 605 points, while Masood has gained one place to 38th with 570 points. Salman Ali Agha has dropped two places to 40th, also with 570 points, while Imam-ul-Haq has fallen one place to 57th.
England’s Harry Brook continues to lead the Test batting rankings, followed by teammate and captain Joe Root in second place. Australia’s Steve Smith remains third.
In the bowling rankings, Pakistan’s veteran spinner Noman Ali has retained eighth position with 792 rating points.
Mohammad Abbas has dropped seven places to 25th, while Shaheen Shah Afridi has slipped one place to 30th. Sajid Khan has fallen two places to 32nd, with Hasan Ali dropping three places to 43rd.
Khurram Shahzad has also slipped three places to 55th with 412 rating points.
Spinner Ali Usman has registered the biggest rise among Pakistan bowlers, jumping 30 places to 67th with 340 rating points after claiming a five-wicket haul in the first Test against England at Headingley.
Aamer Jamal has dropped one place to 82nd, while Asif Afridi has slipped one place to 90th. Mohammad Ali has fallen six places to 92nd with 208 rating points.
Australia’s Mitchell Starc has moved to the top of the Test bowling rankings after an impressive performance in the series against Bangladesh, displacing India’s Jasprit Bumrah.
Bumrah has slipped to second place, while New Zealand’s Matt Henry has dropped to third.
The latest rankings come as Pakistan prepare for the second Test against England at Lord’s, with the visitors seeking to bounce back after suffering a heavy defeat in the opening match of the three-Test series at Headingley.
