Lahore, August 28, 2026: Nepal’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Rita Dhital, visited the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and held discussions with LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol on ways to strengthen bilateral trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Nepal.
The meeting focused on expanding business-to-business (B2B) linkages, increasing trade and investment opportunities and improving connectivity between the two countries.
LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol expressed condolences over the loss of lives in the recent flash floods in Nepal and conveyed solidarity with the affected families and the people of Nepal.
He stressed the need for greater interaction between the Pakistani and Nepali business communities, saying stronger B2B engagement could open new avenues for mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
Saigol called for enhanced efforts to promote bilateral trade and facilitate direct engagement between businesses in the two countries. He noted that closer commercial ties could help identify new areas of cooperation and expand existing economic relations.
Ambassador Rita Dhital emphasised the importance of exchanging B2B business delegations to provide entrepreneurs from both countries with opportunities to explore potential partnerships and markets.
She also proposed organising single-country exhibitions to showcase products and investment opportunities and promote greater commercial interaction between Pakistani and Nepali businesses.
The Nepali envoy highlighted the importance of establishing direct air connectivity between Pakistan and Nepal, saying improved links would facilitate trade, investment, tourism and broader business relations.
Both sides expressed their commitment to exploring practical measures to strengthen commercial ties and expand people-to-people and business contacts between the two countries.
LCCI Executive Committee members Firdous Nisar, Abdul Majeed, Imran Saleemi and Nadeem Ansari, along with Mujahid Ur Rehman, Hamid Ullah Khan and others, attended the meeting.
