Islamabad, November 23, 2024-Hospitals in Islamabad have been placed on high alert as the city braces for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned protest on November 24. The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Poly Clinic Hospital are among the facilities directed to remain on standby until further notice, according to a notification from the district administration.

The directive outlines that all necessary arrangements must be made to handle potential emergencies arising from the protest. Leave for professors, doctors, nurses, and other staff at these hospitals has been canceled, ensuring full availability of medical personnel.

Emergency departments have been instructed to remain prepared, while consultants, surgeons, and Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) have been put on call. Focal persons have also been appointed at PIMS and Poly Clinic to coordinate efforts in case of crises.
