Lahore, September 13, 2026: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Sunday and reiterated Pakistan’s strong condemnation of the recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia’s civilian and economic infrastructure.

During the warm and cordial conversation, the prime minister expressed complete solidarity with the Saudi leadership and people, saying the Houthi actions threatened regional peace and security and could further disrupt the global economy and energy supplies.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said he, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar would continue their efforts to help defuse tensions and promote peace in the region.

He also lauded Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his wise and sagacious leadership throughout the crisis.

The prime minister conveyed his warm wishes and respectful regards to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated Pakistan’s steadfast support for Saudi Arabia as well as its efforts for peace and stability in the region.

The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact and expressed the desire to meet each other at an early date.
