Dubai, September 16, 2026: Pakistan Test captain Babar Azam and middle-order batter Saud Shakeel climbed two places each in the latest ICC Test rankings, despite Pakistan suffering a 3-0 series whitewash against England.
Babar moved from 15th to 13th with 684 rating points, while Saud climbed from 18th to 16th with 674 points.
Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan slipped one place to 34th with 593 points, while former captain Shan Masood made a notable four-place jump from 41st to 37th with 586 points.
Salman Ali Agha dropped one place to 44th with 559 points, while Abdullah Shafique suffered an 11-place decline to 46th with 556 points.
Left-handed opener Imam-ul-Haq retained his 58th position with 506 points, while Razaullah also remained at 91st.
Azan Awais was among the biggest movers, climbing six places to 95th with 358 points.
England’s Harry Brook retained the top position among Test batters, followed by Australia’s Steve Smith at second and England’s returning captain Joe Root at third.
Pakistan spinner Noman Ali dropped one place from ninth to 10th in the Test bowling rankings, with 777 points.
Mohammad Abbas, despite being named Player of the Series after taking 13 wickets against England, slipped one place to 16th with 713 points.
Pacer Shaheen Afridi retained 31st position with 593 points, while spinner Sajid Khan remained 32nd with 587 points.
Hasan Ali dropped one place to 44th. The pacer last played a Test against Bangladesh in May this year.
Khurram Shahzad retained his 55th position, while spinner Ali Usman remained 75th. Pacers Mohammad Ali and Aamer Jamal occupied 81st and 83rd places, respectively, while spinner Asif Afridi was ranked 91st.
Australia’s Mitchell Starc retained the top position among Test bowlers, with New Zealand’s Matt Henry second.
England’s Ollie Robinson climbed to third, while India’s Jasprit Bumrah and Australia’s Pat Cummins slipped to fourth and fifth, respectively.
