Islamabad, October 27,2026: The Pakistan International Human Rights Organisation (PIHRO) and the Pakistan National Commission for UNESCO (PNCU), operating under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in human rights, education, youth empowerment and sustainable development.

The agreement aims to promote shared objectives, raise awareness of UNESCO’s values and develop joint initiatives to foster a more inclusive and equitable society.

The MoU was signed by Aftab Muhammad Khan, Secretary General of PNCU, on behalf of the commission, while PIHRO Chairman Habib Malik Orakzai signed the agreement on behalf of the organisation.

Under the partnership, both organisations will seek to promote human dignity, inclusive education, capacity building and youth development, while raising awareness of human rights and sustainable development.

The collaboration is expected to provide a framework for joint initiatives, institutional engagement and knowledge-sharing to expand educational opportunities, empower young people and promote understanding of human rights and UNESCO’s principles.

PIHRO Chairman Habib Malik Orakzai said the partnership reflected a shared commitment to building a society founded on respect for human dignity, equal opportunities, education and sustainable progress.

The agreement highlights the importance of cooperation between national institutions and civil society organisations in addressing social challenges and promoting positive change.

Both organisations reaffirmed their commitment to developing meaningful partnerships and pursuing initiatives that advance human rights awareness, educational development and sustainable progress in Pakistan.
