Bulawayo, December 3, 2024-Pakistan marked its milestone 250th T20 International with a commanding 10-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the second match of the series, sealing the contest in emphatic fashion.
Playing in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat but struggled to cope with Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack. Despite a promising start by their openers, Zimbabwe collapsed from 37/1 to being bowled out for just 57 in 12.4 overs.
Sufiyan Muqeem starred with the ball for Pakistan, claiming a remarkable five-wicket haul. Abbas Afridi picked up two wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Haris Rauf contributed with a wicket each. For Zimbabwe, Brian Bennett (21) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (16) were the only batters to reach double digits.
Pakistan’s chase was clinical. The opening pair of Saim Ayub and Omair Bin Yousuf made light work of the 58-run target, reaching it in just six overs without losing a wicket. Saim remained unbeaten on 36, while Omair scored 22 not out, ensuring a smooth victory for their side.
Notably, this match marked a historic milestone as Pakistan became the first team to play 250 T20 Internationals, ahead of India, which has played 242 matches to date.
