Ahsan Iqbal reaffirms Pakistan-China cooperation under BRI

Kunming, China, December 17, 2024: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening development cooperation with China under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Global Development Initiative (GDI).

During a meeting with Luo Zhaohui, Director of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, in Kunming, Ahsan Iqbal expressed Pakistan’s dedication to advancing collaboration in various fields. He thanked China for providing a platform for regional countries to exchange expertise and foster partnerships, particularly lauding China’s leadership in promoting the development of the blue economy.

Luo Zhaohui, in turn, appreciated Pakistan’s consistent participation in the forum, noting that high-level delegations had attended for three consecutive years. He emphasized the importance of close contact between the leadership of both countries and highlighted the significant consensus achieved on shared goals.
