ISPR condemns Indian Army Chief’s remarks as baseless and misleading

Rawalpindi, January 15, 2025: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has strongly rejected recent remarks by the Indian Army Chief, who alleged that Pakistan is an “epicentre” of terrorism. The ISPR termed these accusations baseless, politically motivated, and an attempt to divert attention from India’s actions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

In a strongly worded statement, the ISPR underscored that such claims are factually incorrect and reflect duplicity. The statement accused India of using these allegations to obscure its state-sponsored brutality in IIOJK, where the Indian military has been widely criticised for human rights violations.

The ISPR further alleged that the Indian Army Chief’s comments were politically driven, pointing to his oversight of repression in IIOJK during his tenure. “The world has witnessed India’s hate-filled rhetoric inciting genocide against Muslims and its oppressive policies targeting minorities,” the statement said.

The ISPR also accused India of “trans-national repression” and using force against unarmed Kashmiris, claiming such actions have only strengthened their resolve for self-determination in accordance with United Nations resolutions. Highlighting a recent incident, the ISPR referenced an Indian military officer currently in Pakistan’s custody, alleging his involvement in orchestrating terror activities—a fact it said the Indian leadership has ignored.

Pakistan urged India’s military leadership to adopt professionalism and focus on constructive, state-to-state relations rather than pursuing political agendas through provocative rhetoric.
