Three killed, nine injured in Attack on Bannu Peace Committee Office

Peshawar, February 8, 2025: A militant attack on the Peace Committee office in Bannu left three people dead and nine others injured, police confirmed on Saturday.

According to Bannu police, the assault took place in the Gurbaz area, within the jurisdiction of Utmanzai police station, where militants launched a violent offensive against the committee’s office. Three individuals died on the spot, while nine others sustained injuries and were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Security forces responded with retaliatory fire, injuring eight attackers, police reported. Following the incident, security in the area was significantly heightened.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the attack, and a search operation is underway to track down the assailants.
