Bannu, March 4, 2025: Security forces successfully thwarted a terrorist attack on Bannu Cantonment on Tuesday, killing six terrorists and preventing a major infiltration attempt.

According to security sources, the terrorists attempted to breach the cantonment shortly after Iftar, using explosive-laden vehicles to ram into the outer walls, causing significant damage. However, security personnel stationed at various entry points swiftly engaged the assailants, neutralizing all six attackers.

The powerful explosions from the vehicles also damaged a nearby mosque and residential buildings, injuring several civilians. Following the attack, security forces launched a clearance operation to ensure the area was secure and to eliminate any remaining threats.

Authorities have heightened security measures across the region, with investigations underway to trace the terrorists’ origins and network.
