Islamabad, March 14, 2025: Leaders of Tehreek Tahafuz Ayen-i-Pakistan (TTAP) have called for an All-Parties Conference (APC) to address the escalating wave of terrorism in the country.
During a press conference in Islamabad on Friday, TTAP leaders Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Barrister Gohar, and Sahibzada Hamid Raza stressed the urgent need for national consensus. “Only an APC can effectively resolve the prevailing crises. The constitution must be implemented in letter and spirit,” they stated.
The opposition also demanded an impartial Election Commission to ensure free and fair elections. Speaking on the recent Jaffar Express attack, they acknowledged its devastating impact on the nation but commended the swift action of security forces, which they said helped prevent a tragedy on the scale of the Army Public School (APS) attack.
Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar strongly condemned terrorism and urged a unified stance against it. He also proposed convening a National Peace Conference to deliberate on the growing security threats.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced plans to hold an APC to discuss the deteriorating law and order situation. Chairing a high-level meeting in Quetta on Thursday, he stated, “We will invite the entire political leadership and armed forces to develop a national consensus.”
