Islamabad, March 15, 2025: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday dismissed a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders seeking a meeting with party founder Imran Khan.
Justice Khadim Hussain Somroo declared the petition inadmissible, noting that the petitioners had not followed the established procedure for meeting the detained leader. The court’s verdict highlighted that a proper mechanism was in place, and the jail superintendent had already facilitated a meeting for several PTI leaders.
According to the jail records submitted to the court, eight PTI leaders—Salman Akram Raja, Barrister Gohar, Salman Safdar, Naeem Panjotha, Shoaib Shaheen, Abuzar Niazi, and Niazullah Niazi—had met with Imran Khan on March 10. The verdict stated that the petitioners failed to adhere to the required standard operating procedures (SOPs) for securing a visit.
With this ruling, the court reaffirmed that all meetings with the PTI founder must take place in accordance with the prescribed legal framework.
