Mumbai, March 18, 2025: Renowned Indian lyricist Javed Akhtar has expressed his desire for Pakistani singer Moazzam Ali Khan to sing for him after discovering Khan’s rendition of Yeh Nain Deray Deray on YouTube.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Akhtar shared his admiration for Khan’s performance and extended an invitation.
“Just now I watched a gentleman, Muazzam Saheb, on YouTube singing ‘Yeh Nain Deray Deray.’ Could he please contact me? I would be grateful if he sings a few songs for us,” Akhtar wrote.
Khan responded with heartfelt gratitude, calling Akhtar’s recognition an “honour beyond words.”
“Truly grateful to be appreciated by the legendary Javed Akhtar Sahab. His words have inspired generations, and having him acknowledge my voice is an incredible privilege,” he shared on social media.
He also thanked his fans for their unwavering support. “To all my fans and friends who reached out with love and encouragement, I am genuinely humbled and thankful.”
Moazzam Ali Khan is a singer, actor, and voiceover artist known for his roles in HUM TV dramas Meri Shehzadi and Ishq-e-Laa. In a recent podcast, Khan revealed that he is also the great-grandson of Liaquat Ali Khan, Pakistan’s first prime minister.
