Mumbai, March 24, 2025: Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has dismissed Pakistani veteran actor Javed Sheikh’s claims that he was rude on the sets of Jannat, calling the statement “bizarre.” Sheikh had recently shared his experience on a YouTube interview, alleging that Hashmi gave him a cold response when they first met, which led to a strained interaction throughout the shoot.
Reacting to the claims, Hashmi clarified that he was always cordial with Sheikh and found the accusations surprising. “It’s bizarre! I was in my 20s back then, and he is much older, so we were never friends. I didn’t hang out with him, but I don’t recall anything like what he is saying,” Hashmi stated. He added, “I don’t know what Javed Sahab took back with him, but he has held on to this for 16-17 years. To me, it’s a giant comedy of errors that has snowballed into something I have no idea about.”
Sheikh, in his interview, recalled his first interaction with Hashmi on the Jannat set, saying he felt dismissed when the actor shook his hand without making eye contact. “It irked me because big stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Salman Khan respect me and call me ‘Javed Ji,’ but this young actor had an attitude,” Sheikh remarked. He added that after this incident, he avoided talking to Hashmi for the remainder of the shoot.
While Hashmi has denied any intentional disrespect, Sheikh’s comments have sparked a debate among fans of both actors.
