Rawalpindi, March 18, 2025: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Tuesday emphasized the need for national unity to combat the rising wave of terrorism.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Gohar said that PTI founder Imran Khan had condemned the Jaffar Express attack in his first meeting with lawyers since the tragedy.
Quoting Imran Khan, Gohar stated: “PTI is a party representing all provinces, with the backing of 70% of the people. The fight against terrorism requires national consensus, and it cannot succeed without including the leader of the country’s largest political party.”
He further stressed that any national security briefing without Imran Khan’s input would be ineffective.
PTI leader Salman Akram Raja also shared Imran Khan’s concerns about his continued detention.
“Imran Khan has said there is no precedent for keeping both a leader and his wife imprisoned together,” Raja revealed, adding that the PTI founder remained committed to his struggle against fascism and for the restoration of democracy.
Meanwhile, PTI focal person Niazullah Niazi said that Imran Khan had expressed frustration over not being allowed to meet his wife or speak to his children.
“Despite facing discrimination, Imran Khan has vowed not to bow down to anyone,” Niazi said.
