Islamabad, October 13,2024–Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has expressed conditional willingness to postpone its planned protest on October 15, tying the decision to a meeting with former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to details, an important PTI core committee meeting was held last night under the chairmanship of Barrister Salman Akram Raja. The committee decided that if a meeting with Imran Khan takes place by October 14, the protest will be postponed. Concerns have been raised regarding the former Prime Minister’s health, and the party has demanded that a meeting with him be arranged, whether with a doctor, lawyer, or party leader. If this request is fulfilled, the protest will be called off.
Sources reveal that if the meeting is not arranged, PTI plans to go ahead with a full-scale protest on October 15. Some members of the committee suggested postponing the protest due to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, while others, including Shahbaz Gill and Khalid Khurshid, opposed the delay.
PTI members believe that the government’s restriction on meetings with Imran Khan is a calculated move. The party leadership and senior members have criticized this ban, calling it part of a deliberate conspiracy.
