Islamabad, January 4,2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, and other prominent leaders have strongly condemned the recent attack on a government convoy in Lower Kurram, which left Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud and several others injured. Expressing his concern, Prime Minister Sharif called the incident a targeted assault on the Kurram peace agreement and vowed not to let peace disruptors succeed. He prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur expressed deep regret over the incident and ordered an immediate report. He described the attack as a deliberate attempt to derail the recently brokered peace agreement and pledged strict action against those responsible. Gandapur reaffirmed the government’s commitment to restoring peace, stating that the people of Kurram desire stability and harmony, which will not be undermined by miscreants.
Governor KP Faisal Karim Kundi criticized the provincial administration for its failure to prevent the attack and emphasized the need for stronger security measures. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi called the incident a conspiracy aimed at sabotaging ongoing peace efforts. He urged authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice while reaffirming the government’s determination to maintain stability.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack, labeling it a cowardly act of terrorism meant to weaken the nation’s resolve. She expressed confidence that the people’s spirit would remain unshaken, and unity would prevail in the fight against terrorism.
The incident comes shortly after the reopening of the Tal-Parachinar road, which had been closed for three months due to sectarian violence and tribal clashes. Governor Kundi, Minister Naqvi, and CM Gandapur expressed hope that this attack would not derail the ongoing peace process and relief efforts in Kurram.
