Rahim Yar Khan, January 5, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during his visit to Rahim Yar Khan on Sunday. The leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to enhancing economic, political, and cultural ties between their nations.
Upon arrival at the Rahim Yar Khan airport, the UAE President was warmly welcomed by PM Shehbaz, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and other dignitaries.
During their meeting, the leaders discussed a broad range of issues, including economic cooperation, regional stability, climate change, and promoting their mutual interests on the global stage, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed his admiration for the UAE’s visionary leadership and its crucial role in Pakistan’s development and investment. He emphasized Pakistan’s readiness to deepen cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, technology, trade, infrastructure, and skill development.
Sheikh Mohamed, in turn, highlighted the UAE’s strong interest in collaborating with Pakistan in sectors such as mining, minerals, and agriculture. He praised Pakistan’s economic stabilization and expressed optimism about its future trajectory under PM Shehbaz’s leadership. The UAE President also underscored the opportunities this economic recovery has created for increased bilateral investment and cooperation.
