Rawalpindi, January 15, 2025: Security forces killed four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan District, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Wednesday.
“During the operation, troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location,” the ISPR stated.
The military’s media wing added that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants, who were identified as being actively involved in multiple terrorist activities targeting security forces and the killings of innocent civilians.
A sanitization operation is ongoing in the area to eliminate any remaining threats, with the ISPR reiterating that Pakistan’s security forces are resolute in their commitment to eradicating terrorism. “Our forces remain determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” the statement affirmed.
Militant attacks in Pakistan have seen an uptick recently, with authorities accusing the Afghan Taliban of harboring Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants responsible for cross-border attacks.
In a related development, on January 12, security forces killed nine terrorists in two separate operations in North Waziristan. “During the operation, troops effectively engaged the terrorists, resulting in six being neutralized and two apprehended,” the ISPR noted.
