Islamabad, January 17, 2025: Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hassan, Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division of Bangladesh, visited the Naval Headquarters in Islamabad on Friday and met with Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) of Pakistan.
During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional maritime security, and the potential for enhanced naval cooperation. The conversation also focused on strengthening bilateral ties between the Pakistan Navy and the Bangladesh Navy, with particular attention to areas such as training, exchange of visits, and conducting joint naval exercises.
Admiral Ashraf highlighted the Pakistan Navy’s ongoing efforts to ensure maritime security in the region, particularly through initiatives like the Regional Maritime Security Patrols.
Lieutenant General Hassan expressed his appreciation for the Pakistan Navy’s significant role in fostering collaborative maritime security in the region.
This visit is expected to further deepen the defense cooperation between the two countries, strengthening the bond between their armed forces and promoting a stronger partnership in regional maritime security.
