Thatha, December 31, 2024: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced that while his government is not against peaceful sit-ins, steps are being taken against those causing inconvenience to the public. “When people face difficulties, it is our responsibility to address them. Action against sit-ins is being initiated, and some may be displeased,” he stated.
Speaking at a press conference in Thatta, Shah expressed sorrow over the Parachinar incident, emphasizing the Sindh government’s active role in addressing the situation. “We have sent aid to Parachinar from the Sindh government,” he noted.
He clarified that the government has been negotiating with protesters late into the night, urging them to consolidate their sit-ins at a single location. “The solution to the Parachinar issue lies there,” he said. Shah revealed that eight sit-ins have been resolved, with only four remaining.
Commenting on Sindh’s development, the Chief Minister affirmed that progress in the province is ongoing. He highlighted the government’s efforts to tackle transport issues and called on citizens to contribute their share in strengthening the administration’s hands.
Shah also spoke about the K-IV main waterline project, stating that he had conducted an aerial inspection. “Fifty percent of the funding for the KB Feeder project is being provided by Sindh, and the remaining 50% by the federal government,” he explained. The joint initiative, valued at PKR 40 billion, is expected to be completed by 2026.
Reassuring citizens about water resources, Shah declared, “Not a single drop of Sindh’s water will be compromised. We have consistently opposed the Kalabagh Dam project, as it threatens to dry out Sindh.” He reiterated his government’s firm stance against the controversial dam initiative.
