Pakistan weather alert: thunderstorms, heavy rain, and snow expected next week

Islamabad, March 8, 2025: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather advisory predicting thunderstorms, heavy rain, and snowfall across the country from March 9 to March 16 due to an incoming western wind system.

From March 9 to March 16, rain and snowfall expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Murree, Galyat, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir while on March 10, moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Sialkot, and Faisalabad.

Rain is expected to continue in northern Punjab and Islamabad till March 16 while rainfall expected in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Okara, Bhakkar, and Multan Divisions from 14 to 16 March.
