Beijing, March 12, 2025: China has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express in Bolan, Balochistan, which took place on Tuesday, leaving hundreds of passengers trapped and prompting a major security operation.

In an official statement, China’s Foreign Ministry denounced the attack, reaffirming its stance against all forms of terrorism. “China opposes all kinds of terrorism and stands firmly with Pakistan in its fight against such threats,” the ministry stated.

The spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry further emphasized Beijing’s commitment to supporting Islamabad in maintaining peace and stability in the region. “We will continue to assist Pakistan in protecting its people. Both countries will work together to ensure regional security,” the spokesperson added.

The attack on Jaffar Express, which was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar, saw armed militants storm the train, take passengers hostage, and detonate explosives on the railway track. Pakistani security forces launched an extensive operation, rescuing 155 hostages and killing 27 terrorists, though the situation remains tense.

China, a key economic and strategic partner of Pakistan, has consistently expressed concerns over security challenges in Balochistan, particularly due to its investments in projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Beijing’s latest statement underscores its ongoing cooperation with Pakistan in counterterrorism efforts and ensuring stability in the region.
