Lahore, March 15, 2025: Renowned Pakistani singer Naseebo Lal has withdrawn the domestic violence case she filed against her husband, Naveed Hussain, following an alleged assault in Shahdara Town, Lahore.

Speaking to a private news channel, the music icon confirmed that she had decided to drop the charges.

According to the initial First Information Report (FIR), Naseebo Lal alleged that her husband physically assaulted her on March 14 at their home in Ali Park, Garhi Mohalla.

“At around 5 PM, Naveed came home and immediately started abusing me. He then picked up a brick and hit me on the face, causing severe injuries to the left side of my face and nose,” she stated. She further claimed that her husband often engaged in quarrels, but this time, the violence had escalated. Initially, she had demanded legal action against him under Section 345 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), which deals with assault or criminal force with intent to outrage a woman’s modesty.

However, in a turn of events, Naseebo Lal’s brother, Shahid Lal, later informed the media that the couple had reconciled. He acknowledged that while disagreements were common between the two, this particular dispute had escalated to physical violence, prompting the FIR’s filing. “Naveed has assured us that such an incident will not happen again,” he added.

Naseebo Lal is widely celebrated for her powerful vocals and contributions to Saraiki, Punjabi, Urdu, and Marwari music. She gained global recognition for her collaboration with Abida Parveen on the hit song Tu Jhoom, and was also part of the 2021 Pakistan Super League (PSL) anthem Groove Mera alongside Aima Baig and Young Stunners.

Her decision to withdraw the case has sparked mixed reactions, with some expressing concern over domestic violence, while others respecting her choice to settle the matter privately.
