Peshawar, March 15, 2025: Mufti Munir Shakir has succumbed to his injuries following an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast outside a mosque in the Armar area of Peshawar.

According to the police, the explosion initially left four people injured, including Mufti Munir Shakir. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but later passed away due to the severity of his injuries.

Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) spokesperson, Asim, confirmed that Mufti Munir Shakir was brought to the hospital in a critical condition. Despite the medical team’s efforts, he could not survive. The hospital administration stated that his body is being transferred to his residence.

Earlier, police reported that all injured individuals had been shifted to the hospital and that the blast had caused partial damage to the mosque’s wall. The Bomb Disposal Squad is currently collecting evidence from the site to determine the nature of the explosion.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisor on Information, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, expressed deep sorrow over Mufti Munir Shakir’s demise and prayed for his elevated ranks in the afterlife.

“Attacks on scholars are highly concerning and condemnable. Those who take innocent lives are enemies of humanity,” he stated.

Similarly, Provincial Health Advisor Ihtesham Ali also extended his condolences on the tragic death of Mufti Munir Shakir.
