Islamabad, March 28, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting at the Prime Minister’s House, bringing together federal and provincial leaders, military officials, and representatives from Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan to address the persistent threat of terrorism in the country. The session focused on unveiling the perpetrators behind the Jaffar Express attack and ensuring their exposure at both national and international levels.

A key decision taken during the meeting was to reinforce the national narrative against terrorism under the National Action Plan (NAP). The National Narrative Committee was mandated to develop a stronger and more proactive strategy to counter extremism and radicalization. The leadership also resolved to combat anti-state propaganda on traditional and digital media, emphasizing the need for a coordinated effort to prevent the spread of misinformation, fabricated content, and deepfake videos that could threaten national security.

The government decided to actively engage the younger generation in this initiative by incorporating national security themes into films, television dramas, and digital content to counter extremist ideologies. Additionally, it was agreed that the national curriculum would include awareness programs on terrorism and extremism to educate future generations about the dangers of radicalization.

All provinces pledged to cooperate in implementing these measures, ensuring a unified approach to counterterrorism and digital security. The leadership reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating terrorism and strengthening national security through a comprehensive, multi-faceted strategy.
