Seoul, April 11, 2025 – Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has been unanimously elected as the Founding Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference, marking a significant recognition of Pakistan’s role in fostering international parliamentary cooperation.

The inaugural session of the Conference officially commenced in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, with parliamentary leaders from across the globe in attendance.

In his opening address, Chairman Gilani expressed deep gratitude to the international community for the honor and stressed the importance of strengthening ties between parliamentary institutions to effectively tackle shared global challenges.

“There is a growing need for deeper cooperation among parliaments to address the pressing issues of our time, including climate change, global peace, economic instability, and humanitarian crises,” he remarked.
