Minsk, April 11, 2025: Pakistan and Belarus on Friday signed a series of agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) aimed at deepening cooperation across a wide range of sectors, including defense, commerce, environmental protection, and governance.

The accords were inked during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s official visit to Belarus, which included a high-level meeting with President Aleksandr Lukashenko and delegation-level talks between both sides. The discussions covered bilateral, regional, and international matters of mutual interest.

The two leaders oversaw the signing ceremony, where ministers from both countries exchanged the pre-signed documents in an atmosphere of diplomatic warmth.

The key Agreements signed:

  • Readmission Agreement and Cooperation Agreement between Interior Ministries: Exchanged by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and Belarusian Minister of Internal Affairs.
  • Defense Cooperation Agreement: Signed between the defense ministries of both nations, with Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan and Belarusian Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin exchanging the documents.
  • Military-Technical Cooperation Roadmap (2025–2027): Finalized between Pakistan’s Ministry of Defense Production and the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus. The documents were exchanged by Communications Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and Minister Dmitry Pantus.
  • Additional MoUs were signed for cooperation in environmental protection, postal services, trade development, business support, and institutional collaboration between trade bodies.

Earlier, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko hosted a private dinner in honor of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif at his countryside residence. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also attended the event.

President Lukashenko extended extraordinary warmth to both Shehbaz and Nawaz Sharif, underscoring the personal rapport between the leadership of the two countries.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the Belarusian president for the gracious hospitality and cordial reception, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties.
