Rawalpindi, April 15, 2025: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has firmly stated that party founder Imran Khan has rejected the idea of entering into any kind of deal, dispelling speculation about behind-the-scenes negotiations.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail following a legal meeting with Imran Khan, Barrister Gohar clarified that the former prime minister has neither authorised any individual to speak on his behalf nor permitted any negotiations.
“There are no talks, and no one has been authorised to initiate any dialogue,” Gohar said, quoting Khan during the lawyers’ meeting, which included five members of his legal team.
Gohar also confirmed that once again, Khan’s family — including his sisters — was not allowed to meet him. “This is a clear violation and amounts to contempt of court,” he said, pointing to repeated obstructions in family visitation rights.
The denial follows earlier reports of Khan’s sisters being stopped at the jail checkpoint, sparking a roadside protest led by his sister Aleema Khan.
Barrister Gohar further relayed Khan’s concern over recent acts of terrorism in the country. “He expressed sorrow over the tragic incidents and condemned all forms of violence,” Gohar said.
Reiterating the party’s stance, he dismissed all talk of ongoing negotiations as fabricated. “There is no deal. Imran Khan remains steadfast on his principles,” Gohar concluded.
